Minor Surgical Procedures

Outpatient minor surgical procedures with quick recovery.

Fast, safe and painless – under local anesthesia

At Polyclinic Cito we perform minor surgical procedures using modern equipment, aesthetic sutures and minimal tissue trauma. Procedures are performed under local anesthesia, without the need for hospitalization, with a quick return to daily activities.

Although these are smaller and targeted procedures on the skin and subcutaneous tissue, we carry them out according to strict medical protocols using modern methods and tools. If removal of a mole, lipoma, cyst, wart or ingrown nail is needed - our surgeons will ensure a safe procedure and an optimal aesthetic result.

What are minor surgical procedures?

A minor surgical procedure usually means any procedure that can be safely performed in an outpatient setting, without general anaesthesia or the need for respiratory support. Thanks to precise techniques and modern instruments, the procedures are short and recovery is fast, so patients most often return to their daily activities on the same day or the next.

Our focus is on safety, precision and an aesthetic result. We approach every patient individually, with a clear procedure plan, detailed aftercare instructions and an agreed follow-up. In cooperation with Anaesthesiology and the Day Hospital we ensure a comfortable experience and optimal conditions.

No special preparation is required for most minor surgical procedures. You can eat and drink normally before arriving, unless the doctor advises otherwise.

After the procedure you will receive clear instructions on wound care and recommendations for returning to your activities. As a rule, no sick leave is needed; you can return to normal activities the same day or the next, avoiding heavier exertion depending on the procedure site.

Safety and quality control

Procedures are carried out in strictly controlled, sterile conditions using standardised protocols. For any suspicious change we recommend HPD analysis for complete certainty. Follow-up examinations and healing monitoring are arranged individually, according to each patient’s needs.

Find answers to common questions about this service

Who performs minor surgical procedures?

Minor surgical procedures are performed by plastic-reconstructive surgery specialists with many years of experience. Each procedure is performed with the assistance of a medical team and under anesthesiologist supervision when needed.

Will I be under anesthesia?

These procedures are usually performed under local anesthesia. This means that the area where the procedure is performed is numbed, but the patient remains awake and relaxed. In some cases, by agreement, additional analgesia or sedation is administered.

May I come if I am not from Split?

Yes. Patients from other cities often come for a safe procedure and a rapid recovery without hospitalization. We are available for guidance on organizing the arrival.

Do I need a referral for minor surgical procedures?

A referral is not required for minor surgical procedures at Polyclinic Cito. It is sufficient to book an examination appointment or send a photo of the lesion for a quick assessment. During the exam, a procedure plan is agreed and information about preparation and recovery is provided.
