Clinical Embryologist
Dr. sc. Pavle Romac is a clinical embryologist with extensive experience in in vitro fertilisation and the work of the IVF laboratory. As one of the first embryologists in Croatia, he took part in the development and implementation of laboratory procedures that are the standard in modern assisted reproduction today.
In his everyday work he particularly stands out in cases of male factor infertility, where precise laboratory processing and the selection of the optimal technique can play a key role. His approach is exceptionally thorough: from controlling the conditions in the laboratory, through the selection of the fertilisation protocol, to monitoring embryo development and ensuring the high quality of the process.
The quality of the IVF laboratory and the embryologist's experience are often “invisible”, but crucial parts of a successful assisted reproduction procedure.
Dr. sc. Romac, with 38 years of experience, works at the heart of the assisted reproduction procedure - the IVF laboratory - where fertilisation is carried out, embryo development is monitored and advanced techniques are applied that increase the chances of success, especially in complex cases.

In his work, Dr Romac applies precise methods, such as ICSI, especially when it comes to reduced quality of the semen analysis or previous fertilisation failures.
In certain forms of male infertility, sperm is retrieved from the testicle/epididymis using TESE/TESA methods. The laboratory processing of such samples requires experience, precision and tailored protocols.
